The Starfire II was part of Guild’s efforts to break into the electric guitar market in the early ’60s. While some Guild instruments are considered less than some of the bigger brands these semi-hollowbodies are considered fine instruments and were adopted by some players at the time and in comparison to a Gibson these can be extremely good value.
Other variants of the Starfire range are available this is a later version of this model and which makes it more refined than some of the early models and is the variant most sought after by collectors.
